While you are staying at Little Welches Apartment, Worthing a stroll or run along the Richard Haynes Boardwalk is a must.
The board walk starts at the end of Rockley beach and runs for 1.6km up the coast.
Bajans use this Boardwalk for exercise in the morning. From 06:00 you can see all of us walking and running the length of this beautiful boardwalk right next to the sea.
It is also one of the best places to watch the beautiful Sunsets on the South coast, grab a Sundowner from one of the many bars and just chill, watch the sun set while reflecting on another amazing day on this Island in the Sun.
Google Maps always suggest the fasted route. Our recommendation is if you are walking you go via Garden Road No. 1 and turn onto Highway 7. This is a far safer route when walking.
The boardwalk is called the Richard Haynes Boardwalk in honour of a prominent Barbadian politician: Richie Haynes (10th June 1936 – 23rd June 2013). Prior to his move into politics in 1978 he was a Doctor and held the post of Chief of Medical Staff at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) from 1967 to 1976.
